Jermaine Sprosse (born 1986) is an immensely charismatic musician: spontaneous, rousing and full of Energy.

The instrumentalist is focused on the music of C.P.E. Bach and his contemporaries, especially on a vivid and stylistically diverse improvisation practise in all possible forms of that period (sonata, fantasia, Rondo). Recent Concert engagements as soloist and improvisator lead him to venues such as Festival “KlangBasel” (CH) , “Internationales Bachfest Schaffhausen” (CH), “Mendelssohn Musik Woche Wengen” (CH), “Festival de Musique Improvisée de Lausanne” (CH), “Edinburgh Fringe Festival” (GB), “Swiss Clavichord Days” (CH), “Davos Festival-Young artists in concert” (CH), Festival “Viel Klang” (D), “Thüringer Bachwochen” (D),Concerti di Campagna (Assoziazione Karl Jenkins, Montecompatri Lazio) (IT).

As continuist and soloist he regularly performs with “Die Freitagsakademie Bern”, “Zürcher Kammerorchester, Ensemble symphonique de Neuchatel. Both his solo recordings “The Kings Men” (CPE Bach, Nichelmann Fasch) and “Friedrich Wilhelm Rust – The keyboard poet” (SONY dhm) were received with enthusiasm by the press (5 stars in Rondo, CD of the month at Radio SRF 2 Kultur…) and led to various engagements in the form of concerts and radio broadcasts.

Being an alumnus with distinction of the “Schola Cantorum Basiliensis” in keyboards, improvisation and music pedagogy, Jermaine lives near Basel, where he holds a position as main organist and teaches at the conservatory, as well as privately. From 2013-2017, he worked as a main accompanist (Korrepetitor) at the “Schola Cantorum”. He can count on a remarkable number of
Internationally important competitive successes. Among the most prestigious
Ones is a First prize at the “Concorso Internazionale di Musica Antica” (Nervi, Genova) and the second Price at the international T.I.M. Competition in Paris as well as 1st and 2nd prize at “Gebrüder Graun Wettbewerb” (2005 and 2008). He regularly teaches historical improvisation and ornamentation practice within the Festival et Ecole de Musique Improvisée de Lausanne (2015, 2017 and 2020), Gstaad Baroque academy (Gstaad Menuhin Festival, dir. Maurice Steger, 2015 and 2017 editions), Uckermärkische Musikwochen (2021), Assoziazione Karl Jenkins 2021) and many more
